Love Is Within Us

Sharing a prayer from one of my colleagues, Rev. Carrie Hunter, from Sydney, BC…

Ernest Holmes wrote:
Love is within us. It cannot be destroyed.
To the extent that we abandon love, we will feel it has abandoned us. Denying love is our only problem and embracing it is our only answer. Through the power of love, we can let go of past history and begin again.
Love heals, love forgives. Love makes us whole.
These words mean so much to me today as I continue to pray for a more peaceful world – for an end to senseless racism, violence and war.
What I know for sure is that in each of us, there is a power that is greater than anything we can imagine; a power that can overcome every obstacle in our experience and keep us safe, satisfied and at peace.
It is the Power that heals all pain and suffering; that mends our broken hearts; that makes us new again. It is the Power that returns us to innocence we thought was lost. It is the Power that gives us courage to rise up in the morning to a new day and to go forward, with love in our hearts, making us beacons of light and hope for all humanity.
It is the Power that gives us the determination to commit to creating a better world – to make a difference – to heal this planet – one soul at a time.
Knowing that God is always with us and knows every word we speak, knows all our joy and all our sorrow, knows our needs and desires, even before we do – know with me that this healing power is at work in our lives and in the lives of those we love. In a moment of silence, let us call forth those loved ones now and have them bask in the love and healing Presence of the Divine.
And, Oh God, let us remember that we ARE Love.
And so it is!

August is Membership Month

Join us for a month of refreshing and renewing!!!

Summer is the perfect time to pull out our favorite reading as well as to explore books we haven’t yet read. Often this is done on vacation as we escape into daring adventures, steamy romances or juicy mysteries with lots of plot twists and turns. This month at San Antonio Center for Spiritual Living, we will take highlights from four different books that are on Rev. Beth’s summer reading list. And while these books won’t be adventure, romance or mystery novels, they will definitely be adventurous, they will help us connect with deep love and they just may have a twist or turn along the way.
